Frequently Asked Questions

What are Ryan-O Dock Rollers?

They are a unique, patented product that helps protect your boat and dock from the damage incurred in docking when there is wind, waves, currents or a captain who is still learning how to manage his vessel.

How are they constructed?

The roller itself is made of polyethylene. It is virtually indestructible and carries a lifetime warranty. The all steel bracket is welded and braced for durability with the entire assembly galvanized for longevity. The bracket is guaranteed for 5 years.

How many rollers do I need to protect my investment?

The answer is how much protection do you want? A pair of rollers on the outside corner are the most critical to assist in entering the slip. Rollers along the side can be on every post to further assist guiding you into the slip. These will also eliminate the need to put out fenders/bumpers. Finally, the front of the slip, a bow roller will protect the bow from any damage. If you are backing in, a pair of bow stops will protect the swim platform and act as an assist when boarding.

How are they attached to a dock?

The roller bracket is an easy bolt-on application. They can be used on either round or square posts. In special or custom application they may need to be welded to the dock.

What size do I need?

The rollers come in 6′ lengths that will work with boats up to 30′. Boats above this size should specify 8′ rollers. For the larger boats you have to consider the swim platform as well as the rub rail and bow rail.

What kind of maintenance do they require?

NONE!

How long have Ryan-O rollers been in service?

Over 20 years.
